ABOUT US
Teaching kids what water means to people
We build hands-on kits and run presentations that teach children ages 6 to 11 how water moves through the world, what it takes to make it safe, and how communities around the world depend on and lose access to clean water.
Water inequality is easy to explain as a global problem and easy to leave there. Our goal is to bring it closer, helping students see the same patterns in their own community, in the rivers they cross and the taps they drink from, so it becomes something they recognize where they live.

WHAT WE TEACH
Water shapes every life, but access to it is not equal.
The Ripple Effect helps kids understand the systems behind the water they use every day. They explore where water comes from, how it moves through watersheds and communities, what makes it safe to drink, and how it reaches homes, schools, and neighborhoods.
That understanding leads to the central question: why is clean, reliable water readily available to some people but much harder to access for others? Through hands-on activities and real-world examples, kids explore how geography, infrastructure, resources, and decisions can shape a community’s relationship with water and create very different experiences from one place to another.
The goal is to make water inequality understandable at a young age. Kids leave not only knowing more about how water works, but also thinking differently about something they may have always taken for granted and asking why access to such a basic necessity can vary so dramatically between communities.
